Understand documents. Get tasks done.
Document chats answer questions about your files. In Tasks, Ancilo can also create, edit and organise files. You choose the folder it may work with and which changes to keep.
Ask files and folders
Drop a PDF, Word document (.docx), Excel spreadsheet, CSV or text file into a chat. Ancilo can summarise it and answer questions. References to the file, page or sheet help you check the answer.
For several documents, add a chat project folder containing contracts, manuals or notes. Ancilo finds relevant passages in it. Files in a chat project are read only.
Text from photos and scans
Ancilo uses macOS text recognition for scanned PDFs and JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF or WebP images. Processing happens on your computer without uploading them.
Text recognition reads words; it is not general image understanding. Blurred receipts or complex tables can lead to incorrect words, figures or associations. Compare important values with the original.
Work in a copy
Choose a folder and describe the task: create an Excel spreadsheet from invoices, for example, or summarise contracts in a Word document. Ancilo reads, writes and organises in a working copy. You can follow its steps and stop the run.
New, changed, moved and deleted files are listed afterwards. Originals change only when you keep the result. You can undo it as long as the affected files have not changed since.
Local processing and web search
Documents and text recognition use local AI. An additional web search may, however, include terms from your documents. Check the query shown before sending it; allowing automatic searches removes this individual confirmation.
